Any feedback if anyone has gone on the Traditional Irish Musical Pub Crawl in Dublin mentioned in Rick Steves' book? Is it something for teenagers to attend with us? Thank for any input!
Try to be more careful so that your post does not appear three times. People may find that annoying.
It was an error - it did not seem to be posting.
b-no biggie on multiple posts, I'm not annoyed by it, I just figure you're excited to be going to Ireland. If you are signed in you can simply navigate to the post and hit "Delete" for the extras.
The issue you may run into is that the music often doesn't get going until 9:30 or 10, and most places want the kids out before that time. You may be able to come up with a wish list of pubs you'd like to visit and then check website and/or email them for help on this question.
If you get to Dingle I can highly recommend a folk show at Saint James Church, kids are welcome.
Have a great trip, and post back here if more questions.
The Musical Pub Crawl does seem to book slightly discounted tickets for ages 14-18. On p.102, I also notice that Gogarty's Pub has an afternoon music session at 14:00, when kids should be welcome.
As a former Dublin tour guide I've taken many groups on such tours and my suggestion would be to try The Irish House Party instead. A wonderful evening of Irish music and far more suitable than the culture of alcohol for the young people.
My friends and I did the Musical Pub crawl and had a blast!! We are all in our mid 20's and we found it fun and entertaining! It didn't end too late either so after we could stroll around temple bar!
