We fly KLM from Dublin to Amsterdam, and then Delta to the US. The connection in Amsterdam is only 85 minutes. What customs and/or security will we go through in Amsterdam, and will 85 minutes be enough time?
Amsterdam Schipol is one of the easiest airports in the world to make a connection. It has one enourmous terminal under one roof with a single corridor which links the different piers of gates. So 85 minutes is plenty of time. There will be no immigration or customs check, and the security check will be at the gate.
Thank you Michael. I really appreciate your comments.
I must be missing something.
The AMS-USA segment will require going through the exit passport control process in addition to security, would it not?
If this is separate tickets I would not feel 'warm n fuzzy' about 85 minutes.
EDIT--Deleted erroneous info regarding Schengen zone.
Thank you Joe. Good points for us to consider.
Ireland and Netherlands are Schengen countries
Ireland is NOT a Schengen country (https://tinyurl.com/y7eurmj8).
Therefore the connection is international not "domestic" so there is no passport check.

KLM and Delta have been partner airlines for many years. So the boarding pass for the AMS to the US segment will be issued in Dublin, making an 85 minute connection very doable. The airline wouldn't sell a ticket like this if there wasn't a reasonable chance to make the connection.
Make sure when you check in that your checked bags are tagged to Dublin and that you have your boarding passes for the A'dam-Dublin flight.
The OP is going in the other direction: "Dublin to US through Amsterdam"
