I want to travel from Dublin to Kilkenny and then to Cashel (Rock of Cashel).
I will use public transportation.
I take either the train or bus to Kilkenny. At Kilkenny, I take #7 bus to Clonmel. After the Clonmel stop, I can't find a bus that goes in the direction of Cashel. Am I wrong? Am I missing something?
Please respond.
From what I can gather, there is no bus from Kilkenny to Cashel but the number 8 bus from Dublin to Cork stops at Cashel.
Your other option would be to hire a driver to take you from Kilkenny to Cashel.
www.buseireann.ie lists a few bus connections per day. On my test dates, you can depart from Kilkenny rail station at 10:57, make connections at both Clonmel and Cahir, and arrive at Cashel (Main Street Jct. Friar St) at 15:40. For the return trip, you'd leave from the other side of the street. (Confirm these positions with Google Maps or another map.) The earlier departure is at 5:45 a.m. and has a third connection, so that's not attractive.
I appreciate your responses.
Thanks.
