Dublin to Fermanagh

I think I want to take a quick trip to Fermanagh on my way to Ashford Castle. It’s roughly 2 hours from Dublin and 2 hours from there to Ashford Castle. Yes, it makes for a long day, but it will be broken up a bit. I’m a descendent of the Maguire clan so thought it would be fulfilling to go to Enniskillen Castle for a quick trip as I don’t have time to get to the occupied north this time. Has anyone been and how long do you think we’d need for this? Picking up the car at 8 AM so we will have an early start to our day. I know it gets dark earlier in late October.

I think your drive times are very optomistic. It's going to be more like 3 hours from Dublin to Enniskillen Castle - plus time to get parked up and into the castle.

Enniskillen Castle to Ashford castle is 3-3.5 hours...

There's a lot to do and see in the castle and I think you'll be pushed to do it in an hour, even for a quick visit.

Then add in time for some lunch...

You don't say when in late October. Clocks clocksgo back an hour at 2am on Sunday October 27th.
