To maximize 10 days of driving between Dublin(3 nites) and Belfast (2 nites) we plan our longest driving on first day: Dublin to Dingle. Presuming that 4.5 hours is correct allowance for driving time, what or where might we stop to eat lunch (thinking Limerick?) and enjoy whatever attractions along the way? Want to arrive at Dingle by 6pm.
5-6 hours would be more a more reasonable drive time. Will you be driving straight off a transatlantic flight?
I drove it essentially both ways in May. I'd put it at a good six hours driving, possibly even a little more. Maybe that's with my suggested stops?
One way I stopped at Rock of Cashel, Hore Abbey and Cahir Castle. The other I stopped (and spent a night) in Kilkenny. You could stop for a few hours in Kilkenny, rather than overnight, but I don't think you could see Kilkenny and reasonably see the other sights without stopping for a night before driving on to Dingle.
