Dublin to Belfast on a Friday

I am planning a short solo trip to Ireland before meeting up with family in Scotland. Currently planning on my 2 first days in Dublin, 1 full day in Belfast, and a split, travel day on a Friday. I am 24 with some travel experience interested in traditional music, history, and whisky, and will be traveling light.

I have heard that trains are packed full on Fridays after work, will I have issues making a booking if I take the train at 16:50? I have flexibility switching hostel bookings and travel, but would like to spend enough time in Dublin. I am also open to any recommendations in those two cities.

Another way to get to Belfast is the Aircoach bus (Aircoach.ie). They’re very good.

Belfast-Titanic Museum and black cab tour. Cab in AM and have driver drop you at Titanic. That's a pretty good day.
Dublin-so many places, if limited time I would say skip the Book of Kells
