Dublin to Belfast/Giant's Causeway & back to Dublin - 4 days - critique itinerary?

Hello! We have 4 days starting next week in Ireland. We fly in and out of Dublin. Had I thought more about it, I would have done an open jaw (for instance, into Shannon) but the airfare was terrific and I booked hastily!

After a lot of thought, we've decided to head north and save south and west for a longer, return trip. Here's what we have so far...
Day 1 - Dublin - all day, spend night in Dublin (we will have arrived the night before)
Day 2 - leaving early (before 9 in our book), drive from Dublin to Belfast, hitting Newgrange cairns along the way. Stay in Belfast.
Day 3 - drive to Giant's Causeway. Stay somewhere that night :)
Day 4 - drive back to Dublin, staying in Dublin for our flight out on the morning of Day 5.

For Day 2, 3 and 4, we want to see castles along the way. We plan to meander and are open to taking the scenic route(s). The maps have us primarily on main highways which is great for making time, but we're open to suggestions on towns to go through, other sites to see and your overall favorites in the north (food, sites, place to stay for Day 3). We'd rather not come back the way we came.

Any suggestions?

looks good to me...bush mills whiskey plant is fun if that's your thing(or even just their gift shop).....you can get an Irish coffee at the end of the tour instead of a shot......the causeway is lovely but can be windy as all hell.....you can take their little shuttle bus out to the rocks.....I'd say don't drag along much more than your camera for that hour or 2....
