I'm looking for advice and suggestions for transit for three people between Dublin and Ballina. Would you recommend by bus or train? Any other considerations? Thank you

According to Rome to Rio, the train is much faster than the bus and only slightly longer than driving by car.

Thank you! It looks like that second "L" in Ballina was missed, but Rome to Rio recommends Bus Eireann between Dublin & Ballina (County Mayo).
I poked around on the Bus Eireann site, but it looks like tickets/timetables are only available two months in advance. I'll check back a little closer to travel.
