Dublin-Safety

I will be joining my husband on a business trip in Dublin.

I was wondering if it would be safe for me to take a bus or cab to city center on my own. I am in the habit of visiting the surroundings and city when I join my husband on business trips. But I have heard that it may not be as safe.for a woman alone. in Dublin.

Any suggestions, advice?

Thank you

Unless you plan to be wandering around at 2 AM, you'll be fine.

As long as you stick to areas frequented by tourists you'll be fine.

Where are you staying?

I would like to be able to take a bus to touristic places, without worrying. I am not too comfortable with a taxi cab alone.
We will be staying Burlington road.

We loved the tram and got a LEAP card. But there was a stop right next to our hotel. You might be a good walk from nearest tram stop which I think is the green line. They don't go everywhere.

Who has actually said that Dublin buses are not safe?

No-one official.

This sounds like social media chatter.

You are presumably going to be travelling in the daytime.

The aircoach 700 from the airport stops right outside the hotel every 15 minutes and there are 17 other city bus routes use that stop, so there is a bus every few minutes.

Charlemont tram stop on the LUAS is about 10 minutes walk away.

This is a busy area of the city.
