We are flying from Belfast International to Edinburgh,on 22 June, flight leaves at 11.40 am, we have to return a rental car and we drop our luggage before 11am.
We had planned to stay in Dublin for 3 nights from June 19th to June 22, including the most part of a day visiting Newgrange, then drive to Belfast International on 22 June, after some second thoughts, I wonder it it would be simpler to stay in Dublin for 2 nights then visit Newgrange on the next day, stay in the vicinity perhaps Drogheda, which would make the drive back to Belfast shorter.
I'm worried about the drive from Dublin to the airport taking longer than anticipated and needing to leave Dublin really early to make sure we get to Belfast International at the proper time.
Thanks, Please comment!
Is that flight already booked? Or can it be changed? It seems like it would make more sense to fly out of Dublin and just make a day trip to Newgrange.
The flight is booked, we chose to fly in and out of Belfast, as we are flying from Gatwick to Belfast and then to Edinburgh because the locations are in the same 'official country, if there were Covid concerns , we are flying into and out of the same country.
And I saw that you rented the car in Belfast, so probably can't return it in ROI. I, too, wouldn't be comfortable driving from Dublin to Belfast for that flight. Shame it's going to cost you a chunk of your time in Dublin.
Maybe there's a later flight out of Belfast you could change to, allowing the drive comfortably?
No we do not have the option of leaving later, it's already far too complicated
Then it sounds like some version of the plan you originally outlined is your best bet.
