Dublin: nice pubs NOT in the Temple Bar area

Hi again!

Hubby and I are off to Dublin for a few days in November. We have never been to Ireland. He's a Guinness drinker (we're taking the brewery tour, of course).

I am looking for recommendations for nice pubs that are not in the Temple Bar area. We'll swing by there just to check it out, but we are in our 50s and not "party hearty wooooo!" types any longer. So, suggestions for nice pubs - with decent food - that you've visited recently would be VERY helpful. Many thanks! :-)

Not all pubs in Temple bar are for the young crowds who party... that being said, we loved the Brazen Head. It happens to be Ireland's oldest pub but the food is great as is the atmosphere
