We will be on a cruise, spending a day in Dublin. Does anyone know of a daytime Irish music show or a pub with music all the time?

I’m not really a big fan of the Temple Bar area; it seems a little like “Fort Lauderdale/Spring Break” to me. That said, I’m pretty sure that there will be live music almost anytime.

I don’t know of a specific pub that would have music in the daytime. Your best bet is to wander around and if you hear music coming from a pub, go in!
We did come across one pub in Limerick that had a trad session in the daytime. There were kids in the group and it was quite unexpected and fun. So you do have a good chance of finding one!

O'Donoghue's Pub in Merrion Row had a live music session going at about 2:30 one afternoon last May when we wandered in. I'm sorry I can't remember what day of the week it was, and I don't know the schedule. It was taking place in the back room, past the far end of the bar.
If you go, maybe go a bit early because the room was packed!
