Flying out at the crack of dawn from Dublin.... can someone recommend a decent hotel or BnB where we can stay the night before? I have read many, many reviews on tripadvisor.com and I have not found one yet that sounds decent or is close enough to zip over in the morning. Many thanks for your advice :)

I have stayed at both the Clarion Hotel Dublin Airport and the Radisson Blu Hotel Dublin Airport. Both of them are just about across the street from Terminal 2 @ Dublin Airport. When I stayed at them I walked over to the airport for dinner they were that close. Very clean hotels, great value for your money. Also they have shuttles to the airport. I don't remember how often the Clarion, but the Radisson was every 30 minutes and both hotels had them for free.

We stayed at the Hilton near the airport and they provide a shuttle (free) and it was very reasonable. There is a huge Tesco across the street so it would be possible to get take out food but we opted to dine at the hotel restaurant and it was fine. Our room was nice with king size bed, nice linens, and good bathroom. There is one hotel that is very near the airport and we stayed there 10 years ago and the noise from the airport was horrible--and the rooms cost more there also.

We stayed at Premier Inn 1 night then moved to The Carlton for 3 nights by Aer Lingus, due to the hurricane hitting the east coast of the US. Premier hands down was awesome. Both had shuttles for a short ride to the terminal. Carlton was comfortable, but I highly recommend the Premier Inn Dublin Airport!
