Dublin in a Flash - Advice needed

Hi everyone,
Looking for some advice.
In a couple weeks I'm on my way to Italy. If the planes are on time I will have a stopover in Dublin
arriving at 4:55am, next flight leaves at 12:45pm.
Never been to Ireland before, but wonder if you can give me a "What I would do" for this situation.
Even if it is to go into Dublin for breakfast and an pint of Guiness.

Thanks in advance! I always get good advice on this forum.

Not sure what time the Guinness factory opens. But if it's early enough pop over there! Not sure where you are coming in from but Dublin airport is TINY! So no need to get there hours before your departure. Our favorite tea shop has been closed for renovation or I'd send you there!

"Dublin airport is TINY! "

I wouldn't agree. It's not a behemoth like Heathrow or CDG, but there can be long walks to some gate areas (I had a real hike to get to the one for Glasgow). On returning for your next flight, I wouldn't cut security times too close.

I would usually suggest a hop-on hop-off bus tour to get a quick look around, but I'm not sure you have time for that. They start running at 9:00, and you would need to be back at the airport by about 10:45 (about 30 additional minutes just to get back to the airport). Guinness doesn't open until 9:00, either. Given your timing, I'm not sure it's worth leaving the airport. You won't get into town much before 6:30, and not much is open at that hour. You would need to leave to head back to the airport by about 10:15 to allow travel time to the airport and going back through security.
