Hello! Is there a big event or festival going on in Dublin on June 29th? I'm looking at hotels and everything is $200+ per night, with most over $300. Any suggestions of where to stay slightly outside the city maybe? I'll be flying out on June 30th. Thanks!
There may be a big event, I don't know for sure. But what I do know is that Dublin City Center in the summer is expensive. $200-$300 is very common and $300+ not surprising. There are a number of airport hotels you could try or nearby villages like Swords or Malahide. If you have a car you could go out a little further to Trim.
Look at Hotels in Dun Laoghaire.. 15 minute DART ride to Dublin
Since you're flying out on the 30th anyway the obvious choice would seem to be at or near the airport. There are several nice places in the vicinity that offer shuttle service to the terminal, including one very nice Premier Inn.
If you wanted to spend a final afternoon/evening in Dublin you could take the AirLink shuttle (about 7 Euro one-way) or just spring for a taxi ... they really aren't particularly expensive, especially for more than one person.
There's a second round Euro 2020 match on the 30th so hotels are likely charging full whack. As above, try Dun Laoghaire, or even further out try the coastal villages of Howth or Malahide.
When we stay in Dublin, I normally find an AirBnB to rent. They can be reasonably priced.
Thanks for the suggestions! I have the Premier Inn by the airport booked (for now) at 126 euro.
