I'm looking for a hotel downtown Dublin for one night with an airport shuttle. Usually I stay at the Premier Inn near the airport, but this year I want to go to the Kilmainham Gaol and maybe the Guinness storehouse as I have never been to either before. Preferably 150 euros or less on August 5th. Any chance something like that exists? If not, what's the best way to the airport from a downtown hotel? My flight back to the States is at noon August 6th.

Try the NYX Hotel Dublin Christchurch. . It’s near Dublin Castle on the edge of the Temple Bar and close to the tram lines going to Kilmainham Gaol and the Guinness Storehouse, which are less than 3 miles away.
There are two AirPort Express bus companies that run buses to/from the airport to Central Dublin in about 35 minutes.

I posted this yesterday in response to a different query ...
We just returned from 6 nights at the Premier Inn on Gloucester Street, which is a new property. It opened just 2 years ago. It is near Trinity College and, more importantly, Bread41 - a wonderful bakery. If possible, a room on the top (9th floor) would be a good choice.
It's a very easy walk to the Dublin Express bus to/from the airport, to Grafton Street, most of the major museums, etc. We enjoyed the Common Café at MoLI (open to everyone) and Tang (on Grafton Street near St. Stephen's Green).
It is really easy to get from the airport to the hotel via Dublin Express. Tickets can be bought online for 9 Euros one-way or 10 Euros from the kiosk at the Terminal 1 stop for the Dublin Express. Get off at George's Quay. When leaving, it is just a short walk to the Custom House Quay, which gets you to the airport very quickly. We were impressed with the low cost and excellent service.

In general, hotels with airport shuttles are extremely rare in western Europe.

Agree with the recommendation for the Dublin Express for easy transportation to the airport. I'd find a hotel near one of the stops for the Dublin Express and plan on that for transportation to/from airport.
