Rick's book talks about this as a good introduction to Ireland. I've tried to Google it unsuccessfully. Does anyone know how to find it online so we can book it?
Are there any other better guided tours that you recommend?

Maybe check out Original Dublin Walking Tours - they offer a free tour, but others, as well. Possibly the Historical Dublin Tours through Trinity College.

Is this the tour organized by Trinity College that starts in the courtyard there, outside the building where the Book of Kells resides? If so, we did it in 2016 and enjoyed it. The guide was a history graduate student, I think; very knowledgeable and pleasant.
The only drawback was that it ran much longer than the announced schedule. IIRC it was supposed to last an hour and a half. After two and a half hours it was still going, and we had to break off because we were due at the airport later that afternoon.
