We’ll be traveling to Ireland next year with a few days in Dublin. I’m wondering if anyone with celiac or a gluten restricted diet has had any luck finding gluten free meals? TIA.
There is a Facebook page you can join called Celiac Travel. In it you can search cities around the world where other people with celiac disease post restaurant reviews and recommendations. I’ve seen a number of posts for Dublin.
My GF friend just left. She had no trouble finding GF options. Anyplace we ate had allergy warnings on the menu, even in the small towns. In addition, she was generally able to tolerate the “regular” bread here. She’s not celiac, of course.
My son in law was there in Feb and did fine, although he was careful of course. There is some great gluten free bread available, which seems harder to find here. As always, you have to plan ahead a bit but most restaurants have their menus online, as well as having allergens listed.
May I suggest https://cornucopia.ie/ as an option. There landing page states: All our food continues to be made fresh daily on the premises using the highest quality plant based and vegan ingredients, with a large selection of gluten free options.
My family has been going here for years when we travel to Dublin, and make multiple stops per trip, the food is amazing. We are vegan and it is just amazing, you won't be disappointed. The atmosphere is great as well.
I appreciate your suggestions so much. I’m making a list of your suggestions including where to go and a few places mentioned that are worth avoiding. The Celiac Travel site is helpful, too, so thank you to those who recommended that site. Ireland has been on my bucket list for years. We were originally planning to go in 2020 but that never happened. Thank you again.
