Dublin for a day

We will be stopping in Dublin with our cruise as of now it is a tender port so we will be starting in Dún Laoghaire. Our game plan is to do Dublin on our own not using an excursion since the time frame is 7am to embark by 6pm. The plan we are thinking is start the day at Kilmainham Gaol, Guinness storehouse, possibly St. Michans, Christ church Cathedral or St. Patricks, Dublin Castle, Temple bar area, Ha'Penny bridge if time Book of Kells. Does this seem doable or a little to much to try and take on. What would be the quickest easiest way to get around thinking a cab to get to Kilmainham the tram to Guinness and St. Michans or Christ Church then walk the rest and then tram back to dock. Also any suggestions for a place to stop and eat that is not touristy.

Make a reservation at Kilmainham Gaol. They sell out much of the time.

I think you are trying to do too much. Cabs don't always hang out at each of these places and you will have to call them. To maximize time, you might look into hiring a driver for the day.

We walked everywhere, but not sure how far you plan to go from the cruise ship dock and need to get back. We walked along the Liffey River path, checked out the General Post Office (1916 Uprising), Dublin Castle, visited the Garden of Remembrance, Famine Memorial, St Patrick's Cathedral, Christchurch Cathedral, Burdock's Fish and Chips, took student-led tour of Trinity College, passed through Temple Bar area a couple times, ate at Brazen Head (Folklore and Music dinner), St Stephen's Green, Merrion Square Park, Dubh Linn Garden. This was more like two days.
