It is a custom for firefighters when visiting cities other than their own (where they work) to visit fire stations. Often this comes with exchanging or purchasing T-shirts or patches with the station's nickname or logo (usually proceeds go to a non-profit). Does anyone have any experience with doing this in Dublin? My son and husband are firefighters and we do this pretty regularly while on vacation. We are also from New York State, where the firefighting profession has many ties to Irish heritage. Any information and experiences shared is greatly appreciated.
