Dublin Ferry

We are traveling from Dublin to Holyhead by ferry in September on foot carrying luggage. Is there general seating on the ferries and a secure place to put your luggage?

You check in and drop your luggage in the terminal, similar to air travel. Plenty of seating on board.

There is plenty of general seating available. You can pay more for an upgrade and get some free stuff, but the general seating is fine. They do sell food on the ferry. You can get a meal - meat and veggies, or a pizza and sandwiches. They also sell beer and wine aboard. Food is adequate. You will not get sick, but nothing to write home about. As stated above, you will check your luggage at the port before you board and pick it up when you arrive.

Are you going onward by train from Holyhead or getting a car rental? If onward by train, know that the Ferry and rail services do not co-ordinate arrivals and leavings. So, if doing the train, look at the train departures from Holyhead to help you choose which ferry to take. Also, look into the rail/sail options. You get a train ticket included in the purchase, which is good for one trip out and one trip back to and from any UK train station if you purchase a round trip option.

Thanks for the info. Leaving early in the morning so we will eat breakfast on the ferry. Renting a car when we arrive in Holyhead. I understand there is a meet and greet with Europcar in Holyhead.
Thanks Rick
