A future trip to Ireland may involve arriving in Dublin on St Patrick’s Day.
Does anyone have experience with complications with airport arrivals, taxi transfers, and hotel check-Ins on that day because of crowds?
In some cities big gatherings like that are no big deal; in others they are to be avoided - how does Dublin measure up?

Its Ireland. It’s St. Patrick’s day.
Slainte!
If you avoid areas like Temple Bar I doubt that you'll notice much difference from the usual traffic. Airport arrival processing, taxis and hotel check-ins should be unaffected.
I wouldn’t plan on arriving in Dublin on March 17 because the parade downtown is the centerpiece of Dublin’s five-day celebration of ☘️ St. Patrick’s Day with about 400,000 spectators from everywhere jamming the city in a throng around O’Connell Street and streets south of the Liffey River. That is almost 10% of the Republic jammed into an area about one and a half square miles- but a lot of visitors from outside Ireland are in the crowd. Yes-it is a massive crowded party! Traffic doesn’t move in the city center and getting around the city center is on foot for the most part. If you want to go, try to arrive at least by the 16th and reserve your accommodations now. Some accommodations are already sold out for 2023.
🇮🇪
We arrived on St. Patrick's day several years ago and had no problems at all at the airport or with a taxi. We did not stay downtown so can't answer that part of your question but as said the Temple Bar area I would avoid at all cost on that day it is crowded most days and am sure it will be more so and much more rowdy on the holiday itself.
