Hello. What is the travel time by train from Dublin to Cork? How much will I pay for it? How much will I pay for petrol on the road? On the internet I found information:
http://www.routeplanner24.com/cork-dublin
that I will drive the car 2h 30min. Is this information true?
I use ViaMichelin.com to estimate my travel times, but you need to add about 25% to the time estimates for a more accurate idea. Driving can be very slow for a lot of reasons. You can't look at the distance and estimate travel time like you can in the States. I have never used the train, so I can't help you there.
Tom,
You'll find all you need about Irish trains here: http://www.irishrail.ie. It's about 2 1/2 hours to Cork.
Trains to the south depart from Dublin's Heuston Station, whereas those heading north leave from Connolly station. Irish trains are inexpensive, dependable and a relaxing way to cover some distance.
