Dublin, cliffs of Moher, Blareny stone

My friend and I want to see Dublin (Jameson distillery, Guinness, maybe a Gaelic game?), cliffs of Moher and the Blarney Stone while we back pack in Ireland from a Tuesday morning to Sunday morning.

This is the first part of our backpacking trip this summer.

We will be arriving and leaving from Dublin (heading to London after). What are your suggestions on getting to and from these places? Places/areas to stay? We are fine with hostels.

Is this doable? If you suggest renting a car, what should we budget for that? How will we find our way? we welcome as much information as possible!!!!

Suggestions on clothing, shoes (types), etc?!

THANK YOU!

I'm not sure you will have time, with so few days, to get all of it in. To get to Blarney castle you will have to take a train all the way south, probably to Cork, then figure out how to get to the site itself. To get to the Cliffs you will have to take the train all the way west to Galway, then figure out how to get to the cliffs. I'm not sure about local bus service, but I'm sure you can get a tour to both locations, but it will most likely mean you will have to spend a night or two in both Galway and Cork in order to get a guided tour to both locations. Factor in train and bus schedules, and how long it will take to get to each location I think this might be too time consuming. Personally, I would skip the Blarney Stone (very touristy) and just spend a couple nights in Dublin, then head to Galway. There's much more to see from Galway, the Burren area, the Connemara, the Aran Islands. Before you set your heart on doing all of this go to the train/bus web sites and check the schedules.
