Hello,
Is Dublin Castle a must see when visiting? It seems a lot of people walk around the outside but don't actually go in...and advice from people who have been inside is much appreciated.

I wouldn't list it as a must see. For me the two most interesting parts of the tour were the Chapel Royal and the archaeological excavation under the Castle. Otherwise it's mostly state rooms.

We were there this Spring, and did the tour. It was interesting (I agree about the Viking excavations) but it was our twelfth day in Dublin (over the course of five trips) before we got around to it, if that tells you something. I won't suggest alternatives without a bit of "we like" info.
