Should be in Dublin in August.
What attraction do you recommend that I purchase tickets ahead of time?
Otherwise, which attractions are sold out and/or have long waiting lines to purchase tickets?

The places that immediately spring to mind are Kilmainham Gaol, https://heritageireland.ie/visit/places-to-visit/kilmainham-gaol/, and Newgrange, https://heritageireland.ie/visit/places-to-visit/?q=Brú+na+Bóinne+Visitor+Centre+%28Newgrange+and+Knowth%29. Tickets for either become available 28 days in advance.
Somewhat less popular - but gaining in popularity - is 14 Henrietta St., https://14henriettastreet.ie/.
If you want to see the Book of Kells and the Trinity College Long Room you might want to book a time. Although entrance to both places are free when taking the student led walking tour of the college you will wait in what can be a long line as space becomes available. If you book a time you don't wait.
Adding to the previous reply, as in August these will def be needed:
- Guinness Storehouse
- Jameson
- Definitely recommend booking tickets for the Trinity tour, it is regularly sold out (and yes, it includes Book of Kells).
- Music Pub Crawl -def worth doing and is not focused on the pub, but a great evening of music and good craic (fun in Irish)
