Dublin Airport to Galway, then Doolin

Hi, all.
In May, I'll be traveling from Dublin airport, first to Galway, then on down to Doolin. How would you suggest going? I'm not inclined to drive myself. Bus, and if so, which one? Train? Private driver, and if so, why and which company?

Many thanks!
Marjie

If you're interested in the Aran Islands and/or the Cliffs of Moher, and interesting way to get from Galway to Doolin would be to take the Rossaveal Ferry (bus from Galway City included in ticket) to Inishmore then return on a boat to Doolin that includes a boat visit to the Cliffs (called a "combo" ticket). Cancellations of the Doolin Ferry are pretty rare in May, but not unheard of.

Ah, now, the ferry to Inishmore. Be still my heart. I'll have to think about that, quite seriously. I'll be in Doolin for 10 days on a writing retreat, and a visit to the Cliffs of Moher is included. But we're on our own for the Aran Islands - and they are on my list.

Also, thanks so much for the link to the bus!

On a Wed night in Doolin, make sure you stop by McDermotts to see Blackie O'Connell, a world class uilleann pipes player.

There are also frequent buses direct to Dublin Heuston Railway Station for trains to Galway- #782 every 20 minutes.
From Galway bus #350 runs to Doolin at 1000, 1300, 1500 and 1800.
That bus continues to Ennis - for Shannon Airport or trains and buses to Dublin via Limerick.
