Dublin airport express bus to Galway

Is it necessary to make a reservation in advance on this bus? I tried but couldn't manage it on line. It looks like it goes almost every hour so maybe we don't need a reservation? Or is it always crowded in the morning? We're not sure that our flight will arrive on time or how long it will take to get our bags and through customs. We're coming from Washington, DC.

I can't address the airport express bus to Galway. I can tell you two years ago we took the express bus to Killarney. We did not have a reservation. We wandered around in a building looking for a ticket office. I think we finally asked someone who said to buy the ticket from the bus driver. We found the correct bus, paid the driver and were on our way. There were only four of us on the bus. It was a pleasant ride. I would suggest using a restroom ahead of time. There was a lavatory on the bus. It was small and I found it a little hard to use. Of course I was jet lagged and likely my brain wasn't working too well. We arrived in Dublin around 6-7 a.m. in late April. Date of travel may/likely make a difference in how crowded the bus will be.

As a side note, it took us very little time to collection our checked luggage, pass through immigration and find our bus. I think it was just 45 minutes from disembarking to sitting on the bus. We were amazed.

Wishing you a safe journey. Ireland is a beautiful, friendly place. In fact, so much so we're returning in a couple weeks.

I've taken the bus but always booked ahead of time online. You can buy a ticket from the driver if there are seats available. And, you can switch busses (we caught an earlier one than the original time we booked.) Whether tickets are available realtime or not depends on the time of year. There is more than one bus that does the route (760, 761, 763) and you can buy your tickets online here: https://www.citylink.ie/

I hope this helps!
