Dublin airport Customs

We will arrive in Dublin at 7AM. We want to catch the 8AM bus, there at the airport to Cork. Is that unrealistic considering having to go thru customs?

It is unrealistic. Wait and grab a pint of Guinness and Take it looks like the 9:30am or 10:30 am bus.

Yes. Your flight may be delayed getting in, then you have customs, then your luggage etc.

A technical point: In Dublin as in most European airports, customs (control of goods) is just a walk through the "nothing to declare" line for most people. It's immigration (passport control) that can take time.

In Dublin airport, I heard another passenger ask about whether they'd have to go through customs on their transfer, and they were told no. They were quite confused when they had to go through immigration, since Americans use the terms to mean the same thing, and they are not.

Do you have to buy the tickets ahead of time? If not, don't. If yes, buy for a later trip.

However, once you arrive and it looks like you could make the 8:00, go see if they will let you take it. The worse they could do is say no.

We will be facing a similair arrivail time on our trip in June and I wanted to add a follow up question to the original one posted here. How much time should we anticipate it to take to clear custums/immigrations and pick up or backage at Dublin airport? Also we are renting a car from Dollar through Auto Europe. The pick up is at the terminal counter. Has anyone had any experience with them? Can I antitcipate a smooth departure from the airport? Thanks,

Pat
