Dublin Airport Airlink vs. Aircoach?

Stupid question(s), are Airlink and Aircoach two names for the same thing or two different bus companies? If different, do they have different pick up spots at the airport or is there one ground transportation spot? I've only been to Ireland once and came and went on Irish ferries so this is my first experience with Dublin airport.

I'm staying at a hostel when I arrive in Dublin. To get there from the Airport I'm supposed to take the "Airlink 747" downtown.

Later my girlfriend arrives and we're staying at a hotel. I'll bus out to the airport to meet her then take the "Aircoach Rt. 700" to our hotel.

I'm Arriving on Aer Lingus, she's coming on United. Are those both Terminal 2?

Thanks,

Not the same thing - two different companies offering essentially the same services, although along slightly different routes.
Your best bet would be to google both and study their websites for timetables, rates, reservations and pickup point information at the airport.
We've only used Airlink but as I recall it was pretty easy and relatively intuitive upon arrival.
Am pretty sure that both Aer Lingus and United arrivals go into terminal 2.

You can buy Airlink bus tickets at the desk inside the arrivals area in Terminal 1.

Aircoach tickets are available at outdoor stands at Terminal 1, Arrivals, and Terminal 2.

You can buy one way or return (aka round trip) tickets. The return tickets are cheaper than two one-way fares.

Thanks for the good information. I had seen something about a transportation card for Dublin, essentially a prepaid card. I haven't looked closely at it yet and can't recall the name right now. I'll want to figure out if that's an option and whether it works on these buses.
