I'm looking for first hand hotel recommendations at the Dublin airport that is walkable from the hotel to terminal. Also, possibly a restaurant on property and if not walkable a shuttle. I know I can look at Booking.com but would like first hand experience. We are also thinking about staying back at The Buswells. If you have stayed herer and have taken public transporation back to the airport, how was you experience?
Couple of thoughts....
Prior to flying out of Dublin, we've stayed at the Premier Inn in Swords. It's a short shuttle bus ride away. The hotel shuttle costs 3 euros, and runs to/from Zone 16 at the airport. Zone 16 to Terminal 2 is not a very long walk. Not much around the Premier Inn, though. The hotel restaurant is kinda plain, but the food was good for our last meal.
Arriving at Dublin on our last trip, we took the Route 700 bus which stopped at Dublin
City Centre (Kildare Street) Leinster House. It was maybe 100 yards to Buswells from the stop. There are many, many, good place to eat and/or drink near Buswells. To find the 700 bus at the airport was pretty easy, the signage was very good.
We enjoyed Buswells very much. We stayed there for two nights prior to the start of our RS 14 day tour. Great food. Very comfortable.
Echoing travelerguy, we enjoyed our stay at Buswells very much, but taxied from the airport, so I can’t speak for public transportation. One thing I will say is to avoid the Radisson Blu at the Dublin Airport…I can’t begin to tell you how bad our room (and experience) was. And we roll with things…..
On our next trip, we stayed, and very much enjoyed, the Premier Inn at the airport (weren’t staying in Dublin, just an overnight…bussing in, then flying out the next morning)…great shuttle to and from the airport itself and a nice restaurant onsite.
