Hi, can anyone comment on Dublin airport and if this should be enough time between my flights....I hope to fly in from Dubai arriving at 1205 and fly out to Chicago at 3:50pm. Will this be enough time to get my checked luggage, go through customs and then check my luggage again? Thanks!

I think you are allowed to check your luggage through to your final destination. At least, we did. All US-bound passengers have to go through US passport control & customs in Dublin, but the agent just showed us a photo of our checked bags and asked us to verify if they were ours. We had to fill out a customs declaration form -- that is important.
If your Dubai flight is on time, you should be OK. Getting through US passport control & customs takes about an hour, maybe less, depending how many travelers are ahead of you. The tricky part is that you have no control over whether your incoming flight might be delayed for any number of reasons.
Is your ticket all on one airline or partner airlines? If so, then if you cannot make your your connection due to delayed Dubai flight the airline will help you get a seat on the next available flight. But if you're flying with two completely separate airlines, you could have more trouble rebooking your Dublin-Chicago flight and getting credit for what you paid for the original ticket.
