On a trip 10 years ago we toured Trinity College and the Book of Kells, Temple Bar, Guinness Tour and walked around for an entire day. What should we not miss in Dublin this trip for an afternoon and evening?
Rick Steves’ Ireland Book has pages with descriptions on the main points of interest under Dublin at a Glance.
My favorite is the Gaol but be sure to get tickets ahead time. We also liked walking across the bridge to the GPO and going inside. The cathedral is worth a visit also. Try to organize so you are not backtracking. Enjoy.
Dublin castle was a happy surprise for me. You can eat lunch at the Silk Roads Cafe there at Chester Beatty library. The Gaol is 100% worth it if you can get tickets and have time to get out there and back. The free National Museum of Archaeology was amazing. If you’re up for a tour to Newgrange, check out Mary Gibbons or some of the other tours. In the evening, you might like the dinner show Celtic Nights.
