We arrive Dublin around noon and will check out the city first day. I found a nice "small" tour group to see Galway & the Cliffs, etc. a full day tour. I don't like the huge coach bus experience. I want another tour for our last day. Does anyone have a suggestion? Should I head South or North? Don't want the stress of driving in an unfamiliar place. Trip is mid Sept. Thanks
My sister just got back from Dublin and took the train to Galway and she said it was very easy and affordable. Once there, she did a local tour which was good. They stayed there several days and took the train back to Dublin to fly out.
Sounds like a great adventure.
Try a Glendalough/Powerscourt or Newgrange tour packages. Can't help with companies as I always self drive when traveling.
Glendalough is beautiful. One of the most beautiful places I've ever seen.
Newgrange is amazing.
Will all depend on your interests.
Hi Betty,
I am going to Dublin this July and I booked two day tours with two companies. I looked over many reviews and these are the two I went with.
https://wildrovertours.com/trip-view/day-tours/ - With Wild Rover tours, I am going on a full day trip to Belfast and The Giants Causeway and a few other sites in the north. They use a Large tour bus.
http://www.daytoursunplugged.ie/ - With the unplugged tours, and am taking their Boyne Valley tour. Only 14/15 people in a small tour bus.
Check them out and see what you think.
Safe travel,
Olga
Thank you all for the suggestions. Looks like I will have to read up before making final decisions.
A good choice if you remain in Dublin is one of the historic walking tours that you hook up with at the entrance of Trinity College. Ours was a small group guided by a guy who was studying for his PhD in Irish history, so it was great!
