Driving from Antrim coast to Donegal town.

How far a drive is it? Would it be a comfortable drive for one day, or would we need to stay somewhere between? If so, what would be a good place to stop? Any suggestions for a nice B&B in Donegal?

We made this drive--from Portrush to Donegal Town--in May and did not find it to be too much of a drive though it was the longest of our trip.

We stopped in Derry (to visit the City Walls), in Letterkenny (to visit the tourist office for a wifi signal and to pick up maps and info), at Glenveagh National Park (afternoon snack and castle visit), and then down through the Glengesh Pass and on to Donegal town. We also spent some time trying to reach Slieve League, but failed to find the car park area and spent (I don't know how much) time in some really squirrelly paths on which cars are probably not supposed to travel.

We overnighted at a cool little Airbnb in Donegal Town though it does not sound as if this is the type of accommodations for which you are looking. However, if you are interested, this is the listing.

Thank you, this info is helpful. I'm having trouble finding distances in miles, though I know that doesn't tell you how long the drive will take. Did you like Donegal town? We thought there might be some cool tours out of there.

We stayed in a lovely B&B just outside of Donegal town called Ard na Breatha. We also reserved ahead for the dinner which was excellent. Slieve League cliffs are scenic and we had no trouble getting there. Glenveah National Park is nice and Beltany stone circle between Derry and Donegal is a nice large one.
