What is the best route to take driving from Killarney to Dublin? We would like to arrive in Dublin before dark. Is it too ambitious to head south to Cobb and then north passing through Cashel?

When are you going? The days are really long in the summer so if in the summer months, I would say for sure it is doable. Will be a long day but doable

Cobh (pronounced Cove) is defintely off the beaten track for that itinerary.
As the previous answer stated it depends on time of year. Tonight the sun went down almost at ten pm! In the winter it goes down around 4:45!

We will be in Ireland mid July. The decision might depend on the weather also.

You'll probably have decent light until 9:30 at that time of year. but still, going down to Cobh is a long way out of your way!
