Hi,
During our upcoming trip to Ireland in early May, one of the mornings we'll be driving from Kilkenny to our next stop in Ballyvaughan. The route goes through Limerick, Shannon, and then mostly small towns. It's a 2-3 hour drive, but we're planning on making a few stops along the way. Does anyone have any recommendations for which stops would be the best? This is all of our first times in Ireland so "best" stop to us would mean learning more about Irish culture, getting good views, and good Irish food. Thanks in advance!
This is at the minimum a 3.5 hour drive + add time for whatever stops you plan on making. Just so you know.
If you detour a bit you could stop at the Rock of Cashel. Beautiful spot. Ennis was a beautiful little town, haven't been there in years but I liked it. If google tells you 3 hours, I usually add at least another hour. I don't know why but just don't move that fast there. Irish drivers do, so let them past if you are on a two lane road.
