Does N67 get close enough to see the Burren?

Hi, We are driving from Tralee to Galway tomorrow and planning to go by the Cliffs of Moher on the way (although we might be convinced to skip it if the crowds will be terrible. We already saw the Kerry Cliffs.). We'd like to see the Burren, but don't if we'll have the time/energy to drive the whole loop. Will any of it be visible from the main route along N67?

Thanks!

Burren National Park encompasses quite a sizeable area. Some parts are more recognizable than others, but you may not realize you're there from the surrounding scenery. On N67 you are indeed in the Burren, so it depends on what you really want to see.

I think of the heart of the Burren as the area where the Poulnabrone Dolmen - one of the key, if not the key, attractions - is located. There are a few interpretative signs describing the history, geology, flora and fauna of the park as you walk from the parking lot to the Poulnabrone.

To get there from Ennis head north on R476 to R480. You'll see signs and the parking lot on your right a few miles south of Ballyvaughan. It's a popular stop, but I've never seen it anywhere near crowded.

I hope you enjoy the West of Ireland. It's one of most beautiful places in the world, I believe.

We went to the Dolman today... thanks for that tip, we really enjoyed seeing that area and especially the structure. It didn't feel too far out of our way, either.

Eggs-a-lent! Craig's right about Ireland, especially the West, being one of the prettiest countries.
