discount card?

Would it be worth purchasing the Ireland Heritage Card or another discount book/card? My husband, myself, and two teenage children will be visiting for 10 days. I am having a hard time finding out exactly which sites are covered and what the fee would be with a card. Thank you for any help.

That's just one of the things you have to do the math on yourself. We bought one on our first trip because we planned to go to enough of the places on the list to make it worth the money. On subsequent trips, I have not bought one. It may have changed since I did it, but there was no charge if you had a card. When I was figuring it, it only took visiting three sites to make it worth the price, but of course that depends on what is covered, your family size, and the regular admission prices without a card.

The list of sites at http://www.heritageireland.ie/en/North-West/ is divided by region and regular admission fees for each site are displayed when you click to open each one individually. If you have Rick Steves' Ireland guidebook, he gives a summary of the pass coverage on p. 20, basically saying that the Heritage Card can be a good value if you plan on visiting six or more of the covered sites.
