Dingle to Skellig Ring by Boat

Hello all, my family (wife, 3-year old and 6-month old) will be traveling to Ireland in September or October 2018. We visited Ireland a year ago, and our child absolutely loved the Skellig Chocolate Factory. We are staying in Dingle 3-4 nights, and we definitely want to go back to Skellig. To save time instead of driving, can you take a boat from Dingle? We do not want to visit Skellig Michael (too difficult with children). We would just want to boat from Dingle (see Dolphins) toward the Skellig Ring to see the beach and Skelligh Chocolate Factory.

Thanks

Michael,

I'm not 100% sure what you're asking. Do you want a boat trip that will drop you off on the Iveragh peninsula then you continue your travels? Or are you looking to just do a day trip and then come back to Dingle? The Skelligs Chocolate factory isn't walking distance from a dock....... There are some SKellig boat trips that depart from dingle and they do do "drive arounds" for those that don't get onto one of the few boats that actually land on Skellig Michael....

Thank you for your replies. We were looking for a boat trip that takes us to Skellig and then back to Dingle as we will be staying in Dingle for 3 to 4 nights.

If we cannot take a boat trip, we can definitely drive as we are renting a car. How far would Skellig Chocolate Factory be to Kilkenny, which would be our next base?

Thank you again for your help.

Dingle to Chocolate Factory 111 km or 2,5 hours drive

St Finians Bay to Kilkenny are about 300 km

Better stop in Killarney or half the way for a night

Those boat rides can be pretty rough depending on the seas that day. I would not want to chance it with such young kids. I would drive it

Thanks for the info. Yea, driving could be too long. We are still researching stops on the way to Kilkenny and to see if this is too ambitious.

And we'll probably just take a short Doolphin boat ride in Dingle.

Thanks again so much!
