Hello,
My sister and I will be on a 2 week Irish road trip in a rental car. We will be leaving Dingle after a 2 night stay there, heading to a one night stay in Limerick, on the way to 3 nights in Galway. Our map shows two main drives. The first is to go thru Tarlee, stopping for a coffee and short walk around, then to Adare for short stop before heading in to Limerick. In morning we could drive along River Shannon to Tarbert to ferry then to Kilrush to Cliffs of Moher then to Galway. Or skip drive along River Shannon and ferry and instead from Limerick head to Cliffs of Moher thru Ennis then Galway. Other places we might like to see would be The Burren and Bunratty Castle. We appreciate any feedback! Thank you!
What made you choose to stay in Limerick? Any of the other towns you mentioned seem like a better choice.
If you are in Limerick, it doesn't make sense to backtrack to Tarbert to catch the ferry to Kilrush.
If Bunratty Castle and Folk Park is a priority, then plan for that on the first day, either stopping in Limerick or Bunratty. How about the Medieval Banquet in Bunratty?
Next day drive to Cliffs of Moher and then round the coast through Doolin, Fanore, Black Head, Ballyvaughan (with a detour to the lovely ruined Corcomroe Abbey) to Galway, or alternatively take the inland route along N67. Either will give you chance to see some of the Burren scenery.
