We will be in Ireland for 8 nights in early March and are struggling a bit with the middle part of our itinerary. We will leave Dingle on a Monday morning and will check into our hotel in Dublin on Wednesday evening. So we have two nights and most of three days for this leg of our trip.
We'd like to see the Cliffs, Burren, Aran, and maybe Galway. Is that trying to squeeze in too much in the time allotted? Should we stay in Doolin or Ennis one night and Galway the second night, stay both nights in Doolin or Ennis, or stay both nights in Galway? Open to other suggestions for how to fill that time, as well. We don't want to be stressed. Thanks for any advice!
If it were me, I would stay both nights in the same place (it sounds like you will have a car). Any of those three places (and probably more) would be fine for the Cliffs of Moher and the Burren. Galway might have more options for evenings. But there’s no wrong choice.
Another vote to spend two nights in the same place. I'd choose Doolin. You can do day trips to the Aran Islands from there. Also make sure you include a boat trip to see the Cliffs of Moher. They are much more impressive from the sea than from the top! The Burren with its stark limestone scenery is awesome and so very different to anywhere else in Ireland. Some of the best scenery is the drive around the coast from Doolin to Ballyvaughan. extend to Kinvarra for views of Dunguaire Castle and then return to Doolin by the inland route N67.
I agree about the boat trip - IF it is available in March and the weather cooperates.
