Can we do both in 1 day if we are on the road by 9? Are they redundant?

We have done both the archaeology tour and the self drive but not on the same day. The history you will learn on the tour is amazing plus someone else is doing the driving so you get to take in the drive and scenery and relax. When you drive the loop yourself you can pull on and off on your schedule but YOU are driving. I do not think it is redundant to do both but the Dingle Peninsula, in my opinion, is the most beautiful place we have ever been and never tire of the views....they are spectacular. Our first trip to Ireland was in 2001 and we spent a couple of days in Dingle. After traveling to many other places both in Europe and the US we decided to go back to the Dingle Peninsula in 2015 and stay for three weeks!
