do tell!
how far from Limerick?
Several day trips? Once is enough?
Limerick must-sees.
Connemara from Limerick?
thanks!
If you're driving, try Via Michelin. But keep in mind that its time estimates don't include any stops or serious traffic. See how much time it gives you for Limerick to Dingle, and Limerick to a town in Connemara (like Westport), then add at least 50%.
The post is a bit confusing. Are you asking about multiple day trips from Limerick to Dingle? That's not a sensible plan. Limerick-Dingle drive is probably about 2-2.5 hours using the most direct route. However there is much to view and explore on the way and on the Dingle Peninsula that could fill many hours and even days.
sorry about the confusion! We are booked into a hotel in Limerick when we arrive at Shannon. We figured, since it was Thursday, we'd stay the weekend and see Limerick sights and venture to other places for day trips. Rather than chancing finding hotels or B&B's along the way if we wing it, as we're four people, two couples, we made a base in Limerick.
But, I take your point, Dingle isn't so close and there's much to see there. Connemara is a bit closer, but still two hours from Limerick. We found a guide/driver through Tours by Locals and he's based in Limerick, so he's putting together an itinerary for us based on the bookings we have already, in Cork & Inis Mor, and he knows the best way to route it, obviously. Wish we had three weeks instead of two. But there's always a next time. Thanks for your input!
