Dingle

Hello friends
Thank you for all the advice I have received on the Forum. I have followed up with all the suggestions. Unfortunately after researching Dingle and getting excited to go there I am having trouble getting accommodations for the 4 nights we will be there September 5 to 8. My husband and I were looking for a quiet and comfortable B&B to explore the area. I have not found anything that has the whole 4 nights available and we wanted to have a base in on place.
So unfortunately we may not be able to stay in Dingle. Dingle is also far from Dublin so once we are there we didn’t want to be moving around the whole time. We are now looking at areas that would make sense and have a base at and take a day trip to Dongle instead of staying there. We would like a Faconry experience and I would like to see cathedrals and old castles. Thank you in advance for any advice

Hi BeatlesTribute, Sorry you haven't found lodging yet. My wife and I took the Rick Steves Best of Ireland tour in 2024, it was great. In Dingle we stayed at the Milltown House B&B. Actually, some of us stayed in another house next door to the left. And to the left of that, was the falconry. As part of the tour, we all did the "falconry thing", it was really a great experience. They would take our cellphone and take photos of us with the bird on our arms. Better photos that way.

Anyway, the Milltown House folks told us that they were not open to the public, just to Rick Steve tours. I don't know about the house to the left that we stayed in.

Also, these facilities were at the edge of town, a pleasant walk from there to the center of town with the pubs, etc...

Perhaps you could contact those two B&B's and they could help you. Wishing you luck!

Hard to know how extensive your search has been and make recommendations (not knowing your requirements, budget, etc.). I'll just say we loved this place: Dingle Garden Town House. Perhaps take a look.

While Dingle is certainly popular and booking far in advance is necessary to get your pick of the good places, your trip is in September and I'd guess not everyplace is fully booked already. If booking late, one often needs to make some tradeoffs.

(And I assume you mean "Dingle" not "Dongle"...)

Try the Harbor Nights B and B. I just checked and it looks like they have rooms available for the nights you will be there. We stayed there a few years ago and found it very nice very friendly and very conveniently located about 5 min from the middle of Dingle. That is a bank holiday weekend is probably why everything is so booked. The Castlewood is our very favorite place to stay in Dingle but it only has 3 of the 4 nights you want available. Good luck. You will love Dingle. We will be there the week after you are there and staying at the Castlewood.

We stayed at Dunlavin House. It's a little ways across the bridge; but definitely walkable.

We stayed at Murphy's. It is over a pub and right in the middle of town so not exactly what you're looking for but we found it very convenient.

Have you tried emails/facebook'ing all the red dots that appear on Google Maps in response to Dingle/nearby/hotels?

https://www.google.com/maps/search/Hotels/@52.1382769,-10.2751872,640m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m15!2m14!3m6!1sHotels!2sDingle,+Co.+Kerry,+Ireland!3s0x484ffbc7249c4991:0xa00c7a99731cc00!4m2!1d-10.2671142!2d52.1408534!5m5!5m4!1s2025-09-05!2i3!4m1!1i2!6e3?entry=ttu&g_ep=EgoyMDI1MDMyNS4xIKXMDSoASAFQAw%3D%3D

I often find that individually contacting places yields rooms that claim to be "sold out" on Booking.com.

As a last resort, you can "walk" the streets in Street View searching for signs for unlisted places that include a name /number which can usually lead to an email.
