Deciding between two accomodations in Dingle

My husband and I will be visiting Dingle next summer for two nights towards the end of our trip. We've already booked one hotel in Dingle, the Dingle Bay Hotel, but then I found the Coastline House B&B. Now I'm torn. Both sound great and both include breakfast.

The Dingle Bay Hotel is €189 per night and it's right in the middle of the shops and restaurants. I love the convenience of this hotel.

The Coastline House B&B is €120 per night and it's in the seafront area. it's a 5 minute walk to the marina. The views look gorgeous, and I like that we'd be saving money if we stayed here. Not sure how close to shops and restaurants it is.

Which would you choose and why?

My opinion is you cannot go wrong with a nice B&B in Ireland. The hosts really make you feel welcome and the breakfasts are to die for. With that said,Dingle can be busy. You usually have to park in a public parking lot and walk. However, you would still be walking around town from a hotel. Your decision may depend on how much drinking you want to do in pubs at night. Of course cabs are available, also.

Thank you, Revelssn. We don't really drink much, so that doesn't factor into our decision.

Both accommodations look great - I think I would lean toward the Coastline, just because marina areas can be busy with traffic etc. and the shrouds on the boats banging against the masts when the wind is blowing can be really disturbing if you are not used to it. Plus the exta 60 Euro per night saving is good"

Go with the B & B.

Why?

1.) A main reason to visit Ireland is because of the people and their hospitality.
2.) Help your hosts regain a semblance of normalcy following the Covid lockdowns and loss of revenue.
3.) Cheaper
4.) Looks like a pleasant 20 minute walk to coffee, shops, etc.
5.) Quiet

Thank you, Claudia. The last time we were in Ireland we stayed in B&Bs. This time my husband wanted to stay in hotels, but he's fine going with Coastline B&B. I'm going to book it tomorrow.

We just left Dingle earlier this week. We stayed at the Castlewood House and were amazed with everything about our stay. The accommodations were perfect, the breakfasts were perfect. It is a beautiful place and is walkable to town but just outside the hustle and bustle. We had a great time and would certainly stay there again.
