My wife 1 year old toddler and myself are considering a trip to Ireland the end of December from the 25th to January 1st. We would like peoples tips and ideas on how to travel with a 1 year old flying to Dublin from Philadelphia and also getting around Dublin and Ireland and possibly Northern Ireland. We prefer to take trains and we just want to make sure the transportation and hotels would accommodate our baby. We would probably just stay in Dublin the entire trip to make it easier with keeping our luggage in one place.
I think it will be easy to find accommodations that will be baby friendly. If you want to stay in Dublin and take trains as your mode of transportation, then I would stick to a pretty small geographic area ( day trip within 1 to 1.5 hours of Dublin)
Be prepared to be very flexible when travelling with a toddler... some things work, some things need to be cancelled or shortened or rearranged :) bring your car seat for the plane, gate check your stroller , bring something like a soother or bottle to suck on for takeoff and landing ( helps with the ears), lots of little snacks and new little toys... Bring any and all medicine that you might use in the US ( tylenol, advil etc)
