Day trips from Querrin Shore

My family (parents, 5 adult children with their partners, and 5 grandchildren - so a BIG group) are staying in Querrin Shores for 5 nights this July. We will spend a few days closer to Dublin beforehand and then have independent adventures with a 1 night stay as we make our way west to Querrin Shores.

I am looking for day trip recommendations from Querrin Shore, both kid-friendly (but interesting for the non-parent adults) and adult-only. Some days we will spend together and other days we will split up for part or all of the day. I am also looking for both land and sea options: some people get seasick :)

Things already on our brainstorming list:

1) Day trip to Ballyvorda & Cliffs of Moher. What else could be added here? Hiking in Burren?

2) Bunratty Castle Medieval Banquet (reservations required)

What else is nearby and makes to pair with this? Limerick City?

3) Ring of Kerry - this seems ambitious. Too much driving? Ideas to break it up? I know there already lots of recs about the Ring of Kerry - just thinking in terms of our starting point in Querrin Shores.

4) This leaves 2 other days. Are there local events going on mid-July?

I saw a single reference to a Feile Sona festival in Kilrush over a decade ago, but no record that the event continues.

5) What other places are worth visiting and would be a worthwhile trip? I can anticipate a big driving day followed by a slower morning the day after, and I don't want to spend the whole day in the car.

Thanks in advance for time and consideration!

If you are planning on visiting Bunratty Castle for the banquet, make a day of it and enjoy the Folk Park too....There is also St John's Castle in Limerick, but you might want to make that another day.....

On the Burren, there is Aillwee cave and the Bird of Prey Centre. There is also a sheepdog experience (and a ruined stone fort too!) at Caherconnell. The Burren Perfumery may also appeal to some of the group. The ruined Corcomroe Abbey is delightful.

Think about a boat trip from Doolin to see the Cliffs of Moher (much more dramatic when seen from the sea) and also possibly include the Isle of Aran trip in with this.

Two more unusal suggestions are Foynes Flying Boat and Maritime Museum and the Lartigue Monorail and Museum in Listowell. Spend some time in the town too - there is a ruined castle and a very easy walk along the river. Rather than driving the long way round via Limerick, use the Killimer to Tarbert ferry instead.

The Ring of Kerry is much too ambitious for a day trip from Querrin Shores. You are looking at about three hours just to get to Killarney. The actual loop is over 100 miles and it is estimated to allow at least 3.5 hours to drive this PLUS time for stops.... so you are looking at at least 9.5 hours sitting in a car straight driving. There are plenty more things you can do and see from Querring Shores and they make much better use of your time.
