Day trips from Limerick

Flying into Shannon in May 2019. We have an apartment and a car in Limerick for 6 days. We will probably go to Adare the first day because we arrive in the morning and can't check into the apartment until much later in the day. Questions are:

What are reasonable day trips from Limerick via car?

Should we use bus trips for Cliff of Moher, Ring of Kerry and Dingle Peninsula?

Anyone have an opinion about Clonmacnoise?

It will be four of us, my husband, and two daughters, 15 and 19 years old. We like scenery, ruins and castles. We will visit Dublin via train from Limerick but that is in addition to the 6 days at the apartment. Thanks, Yvette.

We were there in May, and really liked Limerick. We stayed just outside of Waterville in a B&B.
"Should we use bus trips for Cliff of Moher, Ring of Kerry and Dingle Peninsula? " I would go ahead and use the rental car as it gives you the ability to travel on your speed.

If you can make time to visit Clonmacnoise it is a lovely, peaceful place to visit. Lots of history, ruins, including round towers, and scenery to view. Visited in 2013 and hope to return. If I remember correctly it is located on the banks of the Shannon River, has 3 preserved high crosses inside the visitor's center along with other historical items. I also remember when we were driving along the road back to our accomodations we spotted bogs and turf gathering places. We enjoyed stopping and walking around at these places.
