Our travel agent routed us to stay in Portrush, but I thought Cushendun looked lovely...then I read about Cushendall. Now I'm confused as to which would be better. We will be driving up from Dublin/New Grange and want a place to stay, eat, pub...then the next day go on to the giants causeway etc. I've heard that the scenic drive in Antrim is fabulous

It is. The coastal road along the Glens of Antrim is a very pretty scenic drive on a sunny day. Reminded us of Highway 1 along the California coast. Just south of Cushendun is the deserted village of Galboly which is worth a meander. All of the Glens are nice - our particular favorite was Glenarm - pretty little village, and you can grab a great lunch at the castle there.
There are several old castles dotting the coast along the drive north - lots of places to stop in and explore.
